PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent drop of atmospheric pressure detection accuracy of an atmospheric pressure sensor arranged in a case storing ECU (engine control circuit). SOLUTION: Gradient of a road on which a vehicle is actually traveling is calculated based on engine speed, engine load and a gear position of a transmission, a guard value K (a value equivalent to change quantity of atmospheric pressure per unit time by altitude change) is calculated according to the gradient of the road and vehicle speed, and change quantity of atmospheric pressure detection value ATP of the atmospheric pressure sensor 30 per unit time (operation period) is limited by the guard value K. Consequently, atmospheric pressure detection value ATP of atmospheric sensor 30 arranged in the case 31 is limited within an appropriate range corresponding to atmospheric pressure change due to altitude change even if pressure in the case 31 temporarily drops steeply due to wetting with water, behavior of atmospheric pressure detection value ATP of the atmospheric pressure sensor 30 is made close to actual behavior of atmospheric pressure.
