PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus capable of obtaining a preferable image by surely reacting ink and a processing liquid regardless of any condition as to a media type and so forth. SOLUTION: The inkjet recording apparatus is provided on the upper-stream side in the paper feeding direction of a print part 12 with a processing-liquid ejection head 13 which ejects a processing liquid S for fixing ink onto a recording sheet 16 and on the further upper-stream side, with a processing-liquid coating part 19 which applies the processing liquid S to the recording sheet 16. According to the conditions as to a type of the recording sheet 16, an imaging object and an ink ejection amount and the like, a fixing method of the processing liquid can be selected among the following four methods for the adhesion of an optimal amount of the processing liquid S onto the recording sheet 16; a method through a combined use of the processing liquid ejection head 13 and the processing-liquid coating part 19, a method for applying by the processing-liquid coating part 19 and a method for ejecting from the processing-liquid ejection head 13 and a method not adhering the processing liquid S onto the recording sheet 16. The apparatus may be structured so that a processing liquid S1 to be ejected from the processing-liquid ejection head 13 and a processing liquid S2 to be applied by the processing-liquid coating part 19 are different in physical properties.
