PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impacting tool which has a compact hammer case by simplifying its assembly structure, the hammer case preventing inner component parts from dropping off. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the impacting tool, a bearing box 13 having a through hole 16 formed in it, into which an output shaft 7 of a motor 6 is insertable, and ball bearings 19, 20 retained in it, is coupled to a rear end of the hammer case 8 in one body. The bearing box 13 has a flange 21 formed on it while a recess 22 of an assembling portion 2a of a main body housing 2 has a groove 23 formed therein, and by engaging the flange 21 with the groove 23 in order to assemble the hammer case 8, the hammer case 8 is prevented from slipping out forward. Further the hammer case 8 has a detent piece 43 formed on its lower surface in an extension portion 41 of the main body housing 2, while the extension portion 41 has a rib formed on its inner surface, and therefore the hammer case 8 is inhibited from circumferentially rotating by virtue of interference between the detent piece 43 and the rib after the assembly of the hammer case 8.
