Network apparatus and method for providing secure port-based VPN communications

A network apparatus (1) with secure IPSec mechanism and method for operating the same are disclosed. The network apparatus (1) includes a VLAN, an MAC filter (20), an IP restriction unit (30) and a static DHCP. The network apparatus (1) provides physical separation between a VPN and other untrustful network before a message is sent to an IPSec channel (4). Therefore, the IPSec channel (4) can be securely accessed. The network apparatus (1) is applicable for both household network and VPN.
