The method involves connecting a gas detector with a dead space arranged in a secondary loop of a refrigerant plant. Refrigerant e.g. halogenated hydrocarbon, chlorofluoro carbon, fluorinated hydrocarbon, hydrofluoro ether, entering the secondary loop due to leakage in the loop is converted into a gaseous phase. The gas detector detects the gas in the loop to output a signal, which indicates the presence of the refrigerant in the loop. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining leakages in secondary circuits of a refrigerant plant. |
