<p>The implant (1), comprising a basically semi-circular plate (2), generally of a metal such as a chrome-cobalt alloy, designed to make contact with a fixed or moving polyethylene plate, is fixed to the patient's tibia by a blade (5) with a curved edge that extends downwards from the plate's straight edge (6) at an angle of between 30 and 60, and preferably 45, degrees. The blade can be in the shape of part of a circle or ellipse, or it can be polygonal, and its thickness tapers towards its free edge (7).</p> |
