ESTER CO-PRODUCTION

摘要

This invention relates to a process for the simultaneous co-production of ethyl acetate and n-butyl acetate, in a reaction of a mixture of ethanol and n-butanol with acetic acid in the liquid phase in the presenc e of an acidic catalyst using a series or reactor and distillation columns so as to recover substantially pure ethyl acetate and substantially pure n-butyl acetate. The process is capable of using relatively impure reactants and provides for removing some of the aldehyde type impurities by the use of resin guard beds.
