FIELD: measuring technique. ^ SUBSTANCE: pickup comprises shutter (1) that rotates together with roller (2) on shaft (3) mounted in bearing unit (4) in housing (5). Shutter (1) is interposed between the light source (6) and photocell rule (7) and is made of a spiral. Roller (2) converts movement of object (9) into rotation of shutter (1), and housing (5) is secured to unmovable object (10). Passing through slots in shutter (1), the light from source (6) illuminates photocells of rules (7), thus providing the boundary between light and shadow.
