The glass brick (1), comprising a block (2) made from two molded glass halves (3), has a layer of mortar (8) covering its edges (5, 6) that contains a gypsum-based hydraulic bonding agent with a Class II or III anhydrite that forms at least 5 per cent of the mortar in liquid form. The mortar can also contain additives such as liquefying, flocculant, plastifying or waterproofing agents.
