A rotor for a turbomachine. The rotor comprises a hub including a periphera l surface, a first side surface, and a second side surface. The hub defines a plurality of cavities, each one of the cavities extending inwardly from the peripheral surface. The hub also defines a plurality of openings, each one o f the openings extending from a corresponding one of the cavities to at least one of the first side surface and the second side surface. The rotor further comprises a blade coupled to the hub. The blade includes an end portion fitting in a particular one of the cavities and screwably secured to the hub . A particular one of the openings extending from the particular one of the cavities is adapted to receive a constraint element engaging the end portion .
