The present invention is directed to a novel delivery system for the storage and the slow or otherwise controlled release of active agents to a selected treatmen t or delivery site. More particularly, the invention is directed to an active agent delive ry system comprising an ice block delivery device, which comprises one or more active agents frozen in ice, and, optionally, an applicator for holding and delivering the active agents to a treatment or delivery site.
