<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently regenerate NOx storage reduction catalyst by adding the necessary minimum fuel. <P>SOLUTION: In this exhaust emission control device, the NOx storage reduction catalyst 12 is interposed in the midway of an exhaust pipe 11 for guiding exhaust gas 9 from an engine 1, and an injector 13 for adding fuel as a reducing agent is provided in the exhaust pipe 11 on the upstream side of the NOx storage reduction catalyst 12. The device is provided with a variable valve mechanism 17 as a valve operation pausing means for making the valve opening operation of the valve inoperative in each cylinder 8 of the engine 1 and a control device 16 for outputting a control signal 17a as a valve operation pausing command in decelerating the vehicle to the variable valve mechanism 17. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
