<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component characterizing information creating apparatus which supports automatic creation of characterizing information regarding odd-shaped components. <P>SOLUTION: A component mounting apparatus captures an image of an electronic component A through an imaging camera and judges the image on the basis of previously stored component characterizing information C. A component characterizing information creating apparatus is assumed to create the component characterizing information C. The component characterizing information creating apparatus comprises an image capture means which captures an image B of the electronic component A through the imaging camera; an area definition means which defines arbitrary areas (1, 2, 3, and 4) in the image B captured by the image capture means; and a component characterizing information setting means which retrieves characterizing information of the electronic component from partial images of the electronic component defined by the area definition means, and sets the retrieved characteristic information as the component characterizing information C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
