<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a process load in an image receiver and a memory capacitance required for a playback when image data compressed between frames is delivered. <P>SOLUTION: A CPU 61 of an image storage delivery server 6 stores image data 101 compressed between the frames in a data memory 62 every GOV data 102. A data size (a deliver size for only I) obtained by adding a header to an I-VOP is calculated from the stored GOV data 102. Additional information 103 containing the calculated deliver size for only I is supplied to each GOV data 102 to be stored in a storage device 7. When a request such as a rapid traverse playback or the like is received, the corresponding additional information 103 is read out from the storage device 7 to a data memory 62.
