PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distortion compensating device for compensating an upper third distortion having a frequency at (2×f2-f1) and a lower third distortion at a frequency of (2×f1-f2) which are generated in amplifying a signal, having a frequency f1 and a signal having a frequency f2 by an amplifier and have different instantaneous phases. SOLUTION: An amplitude modulating means of the distortion compensating device comprising: a square detection circuit 16; an amplitude circuit 22; a phase circuit 7; and an amplitude circuit 15, generates an upper sideband, having the frequency of (2×f2-f1) and a lower sideband having the frequency of (2×f1-f2) for a signal amplified by an amplifier 10 through amplitude modulation, the sideband, having different phases each other according to the difference between the instantaneous phase of the upper third distortion having the frequency at (2×f2-f1) and the instantaneous phase of the upper third distortion at the frequency of (2×f1-f2), which are generated in the amplifier 10, thereby compensating the distortion generated in the amplifier 10 by using the sideband.
