PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record digital broadcasting by selecting combination of a tuner and a recording medium with which a program can be video recorded most efficiently among a plurality of combinations of a tuner and a recording medium connected through a home network. SOLUTION: A controller 16 is connected with tuners 11 and 21 for receiving program information and an HDD 12 for recording the received program information, and further connected with a tuner 31 and HDDs 22 and 32 through the home network 5. The controller 16 controls a broadcast receiving system so as to obtain identification information (address) of the tuners 11, 21 and 31, identification information (address) of the HDDs 12, 22 and 32, and information of a recording time of the program information to be video recorded, residual recordable times of the HDDs 12, 22 and 32, to decide an HDD to be a recording destination of the program information received by the tuners 11, 21 and 31 based on the obtained information and a prescribed rule (the residual recordable time is maximum, etc.) and to record program information to the decided HDD.
