PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic light emitting element (Organic Light Emitting Device: OLED) whose lifetime and light emitting efficiency is improved, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: This organic light emitting element is provided with a first electrode; a second electrode; and an organic layer interposed between the first electrode and the second electrode, and equipped with at least a multiplex coating single layer light emitting layer. The multiplex coating single light emitting layer is formed in single film configurations constituted of neutral luminescent materials, and a difference n<SB>o</SB>-n<SB>e</SB>calculated by subtracting a vertical refractive index n<SB>e</SB>from a horizontal refractive index n<SB>o</SB>of the multiplex coating single layer light emitting layer is larger than the difference n<SB>o</SB>-n<SB>e</SB>of one time coating light emitting layer.
