PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner and an image forming apparatus in which the relative difference in the heat value when a plurality of laser beams are emitted is reduced, the relative difference in wavelength variation due to the relative difference in the heat value is reduced, consequently the relative shift of printing positions due to chromatic aberration of magnification is suppressed, and printing quality is further improved. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus using the plurality of laser beams is provided with a control circuit which controls beam lighting time at the outside of optical writing region or light quantity for every scanning according to the beam lighting time while the beams are focused and performs scanning on a photoreceptor.
