PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve quality and enlarge application by easing mounting position precision of a striker or the like greatly to improve mounting work efficiency and prevent occurrence of faulty operation. SOLUTION: In this latch device having the striker 20 attached to a second member 9 corresponding to a latch main body 1 on a first member 8 side, inserted through a front insertion port 43 of the latch main body 1, and locked so as to be released in the latch main body, the striker 20 is erectedly held so as to be adjustable in a sliding position to a base 23 attached to the second member 9.
