PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber product enabling sure visual judgement of color change to judge urination and provide a method for producing the fiber product. SOLUTION: A stitching thread 1, which is the fiber product for detecting urine, is obtained by dipping a thread made of wool yarn dyed with a pH indicator in a solution having a pH value out of the pH range of the urine to be detected. This stitching thread 1 is sewn in several rows at the center of a diaper, i.e., the part of a diaper pad 2 to be put on the part between legs of a subject. When the urine of the subject comes into direct contact with the thread, a color change takes place to enable the visual judgement of the urination on the diaper by a caretaker.
