PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve parameter settings of mammography device. SOLUTION: Breast is positioned between the X-ray source (4) and the image receiver (2). Breast is pressed against the breast support (3) covering the image receiver (2) and pressed by the pressing plate (13). Position of the X-ray irradiation area and/or position of the pressing plate (13) along the edge near the image receiver (2) and/or area of the image receiver (2) analyzed for the definition of the irradiation parameter and/or area of the image receiver (2) which is assumed to include images for collection, process, record, display and transmission of image, which are called geometry configuration parameters, are defined according to the predefined function of the angleθcalled the angle of inclination, which is formed of the long axis of patient and the normal line of the breast support (3) passing through the focal point of the X-ray source (4), before collecting images.
