<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IgE-dependent histamine releasing factor (HRF) and a peptide bonding to the factor. <P>SOLUTION: The invention provides a deleted HRF capable of forming a dimer containing an amino acid sequence expressed by sequence No.3, a gene encoding the deleted HRF, and a new HRF-binding peptide capable of suppressing the activity of HRF. Since the deleted HRF capable of forming the dimer enables the secretion of histamine and IL-8 in a cell, it can be used for the development of a medicine to suppress the allergy by HRF and a kit for detecting the HRF in the serum of an allergy patient. The new HRF-binding peptide is bonded to HRF to inhibit the action and, accordingly, it is effective for the prevention and treatment of allergic diseases of animals such as asthma and rhinitis, and malaria. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
