<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accelerate image processing and data transfer while suppressing deterioration of image quality. <P>SOLUTION: This image processing apparatus is provided with (A) a multi leveling processing part for performing multi leveling processing of gradations of each pixel constituting an image represented by image data in accordance with the resolution of an output image on the basis of the image data and generating multi leveled gradation data of the prescribed number of bits that do not depend upon the resolution, (B) a memory for storing the multi leveled gradation data generated by the multi leveling processing part, and (C) a dot formation data generating part for converting the multi leveled gradation data acquired from the memory into the number of dots data representing the number of dots, respectively, individually determining the presence of dot formation about one pixel or more on the basis of the number of dots data, and generating dot formation data of the output image of the resolution with at least a portion of pixels in the one pixel or more in which the presence of dot formation is determined as a pixel constituting the output image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
