A brake body (9) is mounted on an output shaft (12), connected to an electric motor (7), and faces a drive body (8) also mounted on the shaft. Spheres (19) engage into ramps defined by facing surfaces of both brake and drive bodies. With the output shaft rotated by the motor within prescribed angle, the brake body is axially adjusted into or out of braking position with respect to the drive body.
