The seat mounting system comprises a rectangular seat frame (2) which has two raised arms connected by curved sections (9) to its rear corners. A back rest frame (3) is connected to these by hinges (5a, 5b) at the corners of its base, allowing its angle to be adjusted with respect to the seat frame. An independent claim is included for a seat incorporating the mounting system, in which the seat forms a fixed base for upholstered cushions.
