<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize an electrode catalyst to electrode reaction and enhance proton passing performance and water retention characteristics of a hollow electrolyte membrane in a cell module for a fuel cell having the hollow electrolyte membrane and catalyst layers which are electrodes installed on the inner surface and the outer surface of the electrolyte membrane as a fundamental constitution element, and in the fuel cell having the cell module. <P>SOLUTION: The cell module for the fuel cell has the electrode membrane and a pair of electrodes installed on the hollow inner surface and the outer surface of the electrolyte membrane, at least one electrode of the electrodes on the hollow inner surface and the outer surface is oriented in the electrolyte membrane, has a nano-column carried with an electrode catalyst, the hollow electrolyte membrane is a proton conductive electrolyte membrane, has pores extending to the proton passing direction, and the average diameter of pores on the interface with the electrode producing protons of the pair of electrodes is made larger than that on the interface with the other electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
