PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool and a method for coating a thread solder for a light beam soldering device capable of efficiently adjusting the target of the thread solder. SOLUTION: A tool body part 1 is attached to an irradiation head 13 of a lens unit 2, the direction of a guide pipe 7 is adjusted so that a thread solder 4 to be guided by the guide pipe 7 is passed through a targeting hole 5 of the tool body part 1, and the target of the thread solder 4 is adjusted thereby. Thus, a work requiring time and labor for adjusting the target of the thread solder 4 so that the thread solder 4 is fed toward a soldering part of a work by using an actual work like a conventional target adjusting method of the thread solder 4 can be omitted, and the target adjusting work becomes efficient.
