PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage device that can efficiently store document data in a limited storage space. SOLUTION: The storage device has means for measuring the importance of electronic documents, means for scheduling the execution of a data re-storage process for free space expansion or means for executing the data re-storage process while the frequency of a storage process is low, and means for, at the data re-storage process execution, subjecting electronic documents of lower importance preferentially to the data re-storage process.
