PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intrusion detector capable of dealing with the detection of various intrusion phenomena by means of optical-fiber Bragg grating sensors, while providing increased efficiency of management. SOLUTION: A plurality of optical-fiber Bragg grating sensors where Bragg gratings reflecting the part of incident light with a specific wavelength are formed within fibers are provided at appropriate intervals to one another and arranged in series on at least one series of optical-fiber cables laid on the boundary of the site of a monitored area. Using a light emitting/monitoring light processing apparatus, broadband light is applied to the optical-fiber cables. The wavelength of the light reflected from the optical-fiber Bragg grating sensors is measured to analyze and detect the position of the optical-fiber Bragg grating sensor that has caused distortion.
