<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the service life of a filter for collecting volatile organic compounds produced from resin components used in an image forming apparatus by efficiently using the filter. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a ventilating fan 54 for discharging air from its inside to its outside, and the filter 58 through which air current generated by the ventilating fan 54 passes. The filter 58 scavenges the volatile organic compound in the air.
