PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication apparatus for reducing the probability of erroneous detection of preambles.

SOLUTION: A base station 200 is provided with: a wireless section 210 for receiving the preambles transmitted for a prescribed period; a matching filter 220 for generating a delay profile from an output of the wireless section 210; a maximum path information extract section 230 for extracting a power value of a maximum path being a path whose power value within each prescribed range (e.g. a range of one frame) in the delay profile is maximum and whose power value is a threshold value or over; and a preamble detection section 260 for detecting the preamble in response to a summated power value resulting from summating a plurality of power values of the extracted maximum paths (included in maximum path information).
