<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera capable of further raising the quality of an image. <P>SOLUTION: A CCD imager 14 of an electronic camera has an image pick-up plane with two sensor area formed. A raw picture generated in one sensor area is outputted from a channel CH1, and a raw picture generated in the sensor area of the other side is outputted from a channel CH2. Clamp processing in accordance with a clamp level LV1 by a clamp circuit 42 is performed to the raw picture of the channel CH1, Clamp processing in accordance with a clamp level LV2 by a clamp circuit 44 is performed to the raw picture of the channel CH2. A clamp level LV1 is in agreement with the optical black level VCL of the raw picture of the channel CH1. On the other hand, the clamp level LV2 is in agreement with the subtraction level "VCL-(VAL-VAR)" derived from the black level VCL of the raw picture of the channel CH1 by subtracting the difference of the rapid-winding level VAL of the raw picture of the channel CH1 and the rapid-winding level VAR of the raw picture of the channel CH2.
