PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily dub a DV stream edited by a personal computer side to a DVD or a hard disk in an HDD built-on DVD recorder in a short period of time in a disk video recorder such as an HDD built-in DVD recorder to be connected to an IEEE1394 serial bus. SOLUTION: When a command for inquiring the type of a stream that can be inputted from the personal computer is received (S1), a DV stream is responded for the personal computer (S2), and when a command for inquiring the type of a sub unit from the personal computer is received (S3), a tape recorder/player sub unit and camera sub unit are responded for the personal computer (S4) to thereby make the personal computer side to recognize a DV camera. Consequently, a user can uses a rewrite function on a program at the personal computer side to easily dub the DV stream edited by the personal computer side to a DVD or a hard disk in the HDD built-in DVD recorder (S7).
