ELEMENT MOUNTING SUBSTRATE, ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD, COLOR FILTER SUBSTRATE, WIRING BOARD, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an element mounting substrate that can suppress leak failure due to excessive wetting and spreading of a liquid material on applying a liquid material to form a functional film, to provide a method for manufacturing the substrate, to provide a color filter substrate and a wiring board comprising the element mounting substrate, and to provide a liquid crystal display apparatus equipped with the element mounting substrate.

SOLUTION: The element mounting substrate has such a structure that a guide material (bank) having a cross section wider in the bottom is formed as patterned on a substrate and that the substrate and the guide material are coated with a photocatalyst-containing film. The average film thickness of the photocatalyst-containing film is larger in a portion at the edge of the pattern than in a portion at a position between patterns of the guide material.
