PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk reproduction device which prevents an optical disk from being left in it and also prevents a user from returning only a case, without an optical disk, to a rental shop. SOLUTION: The optical disk reproduction device determines whether information from an optical disk is being reproduced (#24) when a user's operation to open a tray with a remote controller is not executed (NO in #11) while the optical disk is still inserted (YES in #21), and a tray automatic opening function is enabled (YES #22), and measured time by a timer has exceeded time-out time (YES in #23). If the information is not being reproduced (NO in #24), the optical disk reproduction device opens the disk tray (#15) to eject the optical disk. If the information is being reproduced (YES in #24), the optical disk reproduction device reports caution (#25) and then opens the disk tray (#15) to eject the optical disk when the reproduction of the information is completed after that (YES in #27).
