PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the efficiency of maintenance work on electric equipment such as a computer device by a maintenance person. SOLUTION: When a maintenance person 5 sends a request to estimate the cause of a failure that designates a failure in the equipment 4 for maintenance, from a mobile terminal 3 to a maintenance management device 2 via a communication network 1, the maintenance management device 2 and the mobile terminal 3 send and receive check items for determining the cause of the failure, responses to them, the results of estimation about suspicious components, and operating instructions in accordance with guidance information corresponding to the equipment for maintenance and its failure. The maintenance person performs maintenance work and, to report the completion of the maintenance work, sends from the mobile terminal 3 to the maintenance management device 2 via the network a request to register operation results including data about the result of the maintenance work performed on the equipment for maintenance and additional guidance information. Then the maintenance management device 2 stores the received maintenance work result data in a work history storage part and adds the additional guidance information to a guidance information storage part.
