PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent interruption of operation of a compressor due to excessive rise of delivery pressure by keeping delivery pressure at set pressure or less by operation of a pressure regulation device in a rotary compressor. SOLUTION: A rotary compressor provided with a hermetic vessel, a compression device installed in the hermetic vessel and including a delivery port communicating to an inside of the hermetic vessel and a suction port for sucking external gas into the hermetic vessel, a pressure regulating passage formed to connect the suction port and a delivery side of the hermetic vessel, and a pressure regulating valve normally closing the pressure regulating passage and opening the pressure regulating passage when pressure in the delivery side is set pressure or higher.
