PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide anodically oxidized porous alumina in which micropores having a minute, highly regular arrangement of≤25 nm as the interval of the micropores are arranged to an ideal triangular shape in the range of longitudinal 10 pieces or more by transverse 10 pieces or more (preferably, longitudinal 12 pieces or more by transverse 12 pieces or more), and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: Matrix aluminum is anodically oxidized under the formation voltage of≤10 V using an electrolytic solution essentially consisting of sulfuric acid and to which chloride ions are added.
