PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner preventing a bottom cover from being opened even if a lock release button is accidentally pressed in a state of a dust collecting container being disposed in a container storage part of a cleaner body. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner is provided with the cleaner body 1 equipped with an electric blower 4 and a container storage recess 5 opened upward; and the dust collecting container 12 detachably provided in the container storage recess 5. The dust collecting container 12 is provided with a container body 13 with a dust collecting chamber 13a provided inside and opened downward; the bottom cover 14 mounted to the container body 13 and vertically turned to open/close the downward opening of the dust collecting chamber 13a; a cover locking means 23 for locking the bottom cover 14 to the container body 13; and the lock release button 31 for performing the opening operation of the cover locking means 23. Further, an opening operation regulating means 32 is provided for regulating the opening operation of the lock release button 31 when the dust collecting container 12 is in a state of being disposed in the container storage recess 5 and when the dust collecting container 12 is in a state of being drawable upward from the container storage recess 5.
