PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a malfunction of a lid release button for opening a lid part provided at the bottom part in a dust collector stored in a vacuum cleaner body and collecting dust. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner is provided with the dust collector 4 detachably stored in a cleaner body, having an opening part 5 allowing the inflow of dust, and collecting the dust, the openable/closable lid 6 partially provided at the dust collector 4, the lid release button 8 provided in the dust collector 4 and opening the lid 6; and is so constituted to prevent a user from operating the lid release button 8 with the dust collector 4 stored in the cleaner body. This constitution prevent such a case that the user's finger touches the lid release button 8 before taking out the dust collector 4 from the cleaner body, and the user takes out the dust collector 4 from the cleaner body despite the opening of the lid 6 without noticing the opening, and spreads the dust in the dust collector 4 over a room or the like.
