Method for 'in situ' deposition of micro- and nanostructured oxides on a porous support The present invention provides a method for the deposition of an oxide belonging to the group which includes cerium oxide (or other rare earth oxides), vanadium oxides, alkaline metal (such as potassium, cesium, etc) oxides, alkaline-earth metal (such as calcium, barium, etc.) oxides as well as mixed ox- ides of the above mentioned elements on a porous support made of a ceramic material. The method is characterized in that said oxide is synthesized "in situ" on the support by means of a combustion process (combustion synthesis) starting from a water solution containing the precursors of the oxide. The process is applied in particular to the production of cata- lytic devices for the abatement of pollutants.
