PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of improving the reliability of contrast AF even when a zoom position is changed, such as in a wide angle end or a telephoto end, and reducing an occurring rate of an out-of-focus image. SOLUTION: In the imaging apparatus, a zoom position detection part 37 detects the zoom position of a zoom lens 12 and outputs it to a CPU 40. The CPU 40 sets a high-pass filter having cutoff frequency in accordance with the zoom position.
