PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process cartridge which prevents the flocculation of a developer on an image carrier, and also to provide an electrophotographic image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The process cartridge attachable to and detachable from the electrophotographic image forming apparatus has: a photoreceptor drum 1; a blade 61 which removes the developer from the photoreceptor drum 1 and abuts on the photoreceptor drum 1; and particles 101 which are applied to the abutting area 64 where the photoreceptor drum 1 and the blade 61 abut, are applied to the upstream side of the abutting area 64 in the rotating direction where the photoreceptor drum 1 rotates, and prevent the developer from intruding into the abutting area 64.
