PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of erecting and removing a bridge girder, according to which working hours in a narrow construction field can be shortened and the construction field can be evacuated in a short time, and to provide a bridge girder construction apparatus for use in the method. SOLUTION: Erection work of the bridge girder G is carried out by the bridge girder construction apparatus 1. First, while an erection girder 10 is borne by a carrying truck 20, a front portion of the erection girder 10 is forwarded from a construction completed section S to an erection scheduled section C, and by lowering a lower cylinder portion 33A to bear the front portion, the erection girder 10 is erected. Then the bridge girder G mounted on the erection girder 10 is forwarded to the erection scheduled section C by a girder forwarding truck 12, and by lowering the erection girder 10, the bridge girder G is set on an upper end P of a bridge pier. After completion of the erection, while being borne by the carrying truck 20, the erection girder 10 is withdrawn from the erection scheduled section C to the construction completed section S.
