PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a thermoplastic vulcanized rubber using a peroxide curing system. SOLUTION: This method includes a process for adding a peroxide masterbatch to the melt-blend of a fluorocarbon elastomer with a thermoplastic material. The peroxide masterbatch comprises≥5 mass% of an organic peroxide, a fluorocarbon elastomer and a crosslinking agent having typically at least two sites of an olefinic unsaturation. The fluorocarbon elastomers in the melt-blend and in the peroxide masterbatch may be identical or different each other. The melt blend is added to the peroxide masterbatch, and the obtained composition is mixed for a sufficient time and at a sufficient temperature to achieve the curing of the fluorocarbon elastomer. By the use of the masterbatch, the peroxide curing agent for pre-dispersing the peroxide in the elastomer phase can quickly and uniformly be dispersed, thus giving the molded article having improved mechanical properties.
