<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video recorder that makes a viewer less perceive deterioration in picture quality of an encoded program etc., even when a video-recorded program etc., is encoded again and a free space is formed on a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The video recorder records video recording data generated by encoding moving picture data and encoded information representing features of moving picture data extracted when the vide recording data are encoded in association with each other, selects the video recording data based upon the recorded encoded information to generate video recording data encoded by an encoding method reducing the data size, extracts the encoded information in the process of the generation, and records the generated video recording data instead of the original video recording data and the extracted information instead of the encoded information corresponding to the original video recording data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
