PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge which can prevent data breakage of a semiconductor storing means from occurring regardless of unsuitable attachment and detachment operations for the ink cartridge. SOLUTION: The ink cartridge is equipped with a side wall formed to intersect a bottom face, an ink supplying port which is formed at the bottom face and through which an ink feeding needle is inserted, a circuit board 31 arranged near the bottom face of the side wall, a plurality of electrodes which can come into contact with a contact-forming member of a recorder side formed on an outer surface of the circuit board 31, and a storing element 61 set on the circuit board 31. An electrode for use in detection of the presence or absence of mounting of the ink cartridge by electrically connecting a gap between a plurality of the contact-forming members is included in a plurality of the electrodes. The electrode used for electrically connecting the plurality of the contact-forming members each other is arranged to be located on a projection line where a center axis of the ink supply port 44 is projected perpendicularly to the circuit board 31.
