PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a super-contrast heat developable photosensitive material having satisfactory coating property at the time of production, having excellent electrostatic charge properties, and further having an environmentally reduced load, and also to provide an image forming method therefor. SOLUTION: The heat developable photosensitive material has: an image forming layer containing a nonphotosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent for organic silver, photosensitive silver halide, a contrasting agent, and a binder formed on the surface of a support; a nonphotosensitive layer protecting the image forming layer; and one or more backing layers on the side having the image forming layer and on the side surface opposite thereto respectively via the support, wherein each layer is formed with a coating liquid containing≥50 mass% water as a solvent, and a compound expressed by a formula (1) of X-(L)<SB>m</SB>-Rf-(L')<SB>m</SB>-X' is contained in the outermost surface layer of each side. In the formula, Rf denotes an aliphatic group containing at least one fluorine atom; L, L' denote a single joint hand or a bivalent linking group, respectively; m denotes 0 or the integer of 1 to 5; and X, X' denote a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, an anionic group, or a cationic group.
