<p>A projectile, including a compacted and sintered mixture of a plurality of tungsten particles and a plurality of iron particles. At least a portion of the plurality of iron particles are bonded together, and no intermetallic compounds or alloys of the tungsten particles and iron particles are formed during the compaction and sintering processes. The final density of the projectile is from about 8.1 grams per cubic centimeter to about 12.1 grams per cubic centimeter, and no substantial densification occurs during sintering. A method of producing such a projectile is also disclosed.</p> |
