<p>The airbag unit is assembled of the housing (M), the folded bag, a gas generator (I), and a front cover (1) with a predetermined breaking line (10). The cover (1) made of two foil segments (11,12) is glued to the housing (M). An additional layer of foil (2) is permanently joined to one of the segments (11), the connecting line running along the breaking line (10). In case of an impact the guiding layer (2) is first moved towards the head of the passenger in order to avoid a sudden blow by the airbag.</p> |
